Warehouse Operative
Location: Uxbridge
Pay: £26,000 – £28,000 DOE
Shifts:Monday to Thursday: 08:00 – 17:00Friday: 08:30 – 16:00
We’re looking for a motivated and capable individual to join a dynamic warehouse team.
While the primary focus of this role is Goods Inwards, the successful candidate will also be required to cover client site visits, and contribute to other general warehouse duties including picking, packing, and housekeeping. The position involves a mix of desk-based stock control and physical goods handling, offering a varied and engaging workload.
Key Responsibilities:
Goods Inwards & Inspection:
Receive and open deliveries, verify documentation and certifications.
Ensure goods match purchase order specifications and are compliant with quality standards.
Book stock into the ERP system accurately and efficiently.
Conduct thorough physical inspections to identify and report any non-conformities.
Liaise with the Quality team to resolve anomalies and manage non-compliant goods in quarantine.
Driving Duties (Holiday/Sickness Cover):
Deliver goods to client and supplier premises using a company van (approx. 3 days/week during cover periods).
Replenish client stock using on-site stock management systems.
Represent the company professionally at all times when on client sites.
General Warehouse Support:
Assist with picking and packing orders.
Perform regular stock checks and assist with inventory control.
Maintain cleanliness and order in the warehouse through general housekeeping duties.
Work collaboratively with warehouse and inspection team members to ensure smooth operations.
Candidate Requirements:
Aged 25 or over (due to company van insurance policy).
Full clean UK driving licence (essential).
Able and willing to pass a CRB/DBS check for access to secure client sites.
Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or stock control environment.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow compliance procedures.
Comfortable using computers and stock/ERP systems.
Physically fit and capable of lifting and handling goods safely.
Good communication skills and a proactive attitude.
Desirable:
Experience within a compliance-led or technical environment (e.g., engineering, manufacturing).
Forklift licence (advantageous, not essential).
Familiarity with stock management or quality inspection procedures.
