Are you good with numbers, weights and measures? Are you a nimble worker who could work with samples and base chemical products? Maybe you have previous lab experience or have worked within a manufacturing environment?
My client, a major FMCG organisation that undertakes a great deal of R&D, now requires a lab assistant for one of their product development areas. You will be fully trained for this role, but you will require the following skills:
- Numerical skills
- Ideally have experience working with base oils/chemicals
- Good dexterity and nimble-fingered
- Highly accurate and able to work to tight deadlines
Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 5pm. Lab coat and protective eyewear will be supplied.
Role duties:
- Trained to compound oils and base chemicals in order to create product samples for commercial clients
- Checking of weights and measures and mixing accordingly
- Replenishing your workstation with products required for mixing
- Disposing of expired and out of date compounds
- Working with automated lab equipment
- Keeping work area clean and tidy
- Following all H&S protocol
Must have:
- Good numeric skills
- Ideally worked with chemicals/compounds previously
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly accurate
- A true team player
- Confident working to commercial targets
Please note this role is NOT suitable for recent graduates or a graduate looking for career development in a lab setting. You will also need to be available at short notice for a 6-month contract.
