Compliance Manager
Salary: £45,000 to £50,000 per annum
Location: Middlesex
Working pattern: Hybrid working
Our client is looking for an experienced Compliance Manager to join a successful and fast-paced professional services business.
This is a particularly interesting opportunity for someone with a legal background who has experience of, or a strong interest in, consumer, marketing or promotional compliance. The role will involve advising on customer-facing campaigns and promotional activity, helping ensure they are legally compliant, fair, transparent and commercially workable.
Alongside a salary of £45,000 to £50,000, the role offers hybrid working, an excellent benefits package and a performance-related bonus scheme.
The role will include:
- Reviewing client briefs for marketing campaigns, promotions and other consumer-facing activity
- Identifying potential legal, regulatory and reputational risks at an early stage
- Advising on promotional mechanics, customer communications and campaign materials
- Drafting and reviewing terms and conditions and other compliance documentation
- Providing clear guidance on consumer protection, marketing and promotional compliance requirements
- Helping clients and internal teams understand how regulatory requirements apply in practice
- Monitoring relevant changes in advertising, consumer and data protection regulation
- Translating complex legal information into straightforward, practical advice for non-legal audiences
- Maintaining internal compliance guidance, reference materials and practical resources
- Supporting projects involving multiple international markets and coordinating specialist external advice where required
- Helping develop and deliver compliance training for colleagues and clients
- Contributing to client guidance, FAQs and educational content on marketing and promotional compliance
The ideal Compliance Manager will have:
- A legal degree
- Around three to five years' experience within compliance, legal, regulatory or governance work
- Experience of consumer, marketing, advertising or promotional compliance would be highly advantageous
- Strong drafting skills and excellent attention to detail
- Experience producing accurate and clearly written legal or compliance documentation
- The ability to explain complex requirements confidently to people without a legal background
- Strong client and stakeholder communication skills
- Good commercial judgement and a practical approach to problem-solving
- The ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively to deadlines
- Confidence working both independently and collaboratively
- Good Microsoft Office skills
This Compliance Manager role would be especially well suited to someone who enjoys the commercial side of compliance and wants to work on varied, customer-facing campaigns rather than purely internal policy or governance work.
It is a great opportunity to build deeper expertise in consumer and promotional compliance while working with a broad range of projects and stakeholders in a collaborative environment.
