We are seeking an experienced Human Resources & Social Value Coordinator to provide high-quality HR operational support while leading and managing the organisation's social and environmental value agenda. This is a varied and hands-on role, ideal for a CIPD-qualified HR professional who is confident managing core HR processes and has a strong understanding of social value within a commercial organisation, including reporting, stakeholder engagement, and tender support.
Key Responsibilities – Human Resources
- Coordinate end-to-end recruitment activities, including job advertising, interview scheduling, offers, and contracts.
- Deliver structured new starter inductions and ensure a positive onboarding experience.
- Support payroll processes by collating starter, leaver, and contractual change information for both salaried and 4-weekly payrolls.
- Prepare documentation relating to changes in terms and conditions, contract variations, and leavers.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records in line with GDPR requirements.
- Manage HR data across systems, spreadsheets, and employee benefits platforms.
- Monitor and trigger probation reviews and annual appraisal cycles, supporting managers as required.
Social Value & Environmental Responsibility
- Lead and manage the company's social value commitments, ensuring alignment with business objectives and client requirements.
- Develop and maintain relationships with charities, community groups, business networks, and local authorities.
- Support and contribute to social value tender submissions, including evidence gathering and impact reporting.
- Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to ensure social and environmental commitments are delivered effectively.
- Coordinate and produce inputs for the annual Social Value Report, working closely with the Environmental Manager.
- Drive employee engagement initiatives such as volunteering programmes, surveys, and awareness campaigns.
- Track, measure, and report social and environmental impact, providing data for governance, clients, and senior leadership.
- Promote social value activity through case studies and internal/external communications, working with Sales and Marketing teams.
Person Specification – Essential
- CIPD Level 3 or Level 5 qualification (or working towards).
- Proven experience in an HR coordination or HR officer role.
- Strong understanding of social value within an organisational or commercial context.
- Experience supporting or leading social value, CSR, ESG, or sustainability initiatives.
- Excellent organisational skills with high attention to detail.
- Confident communicator, able to engage with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work proactively on own initiative.
- Strong IT skills, including HR systems and Excel.
Desirable
- Experience supporting tender submissions or client reporting related to social value.
- Knowledge of environmental reporting or sustainability frameworks.
- Experience working in construction, manufacturing, or a regulated environment.
