Harrow Weald Campus Harrow College, part of the Harrow, Richmond and Uxbridge Colleges Group, has a high number of SEND students who study both on mainstream and bespoke programmes. We are seeking to appoint a Head of Inclusive Learning Support who will ensure that support for learners with SEND, and those with low needs, leads to success for individual students in terms of development of their independence, life skills, qualifications, completion of course or job outcomes.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Working with the Director of Inclusive Learning Support to develop and manage SEND provision in line with the College's strategic objectives.
- Managing a team in the delivery of Learning Support for SEND learners and staff who provide support for deaf or hard-of-hearing students, and to plan, manage and develop the learning support provision for SEND learners.
- Managing students with EHCPs, including administration, application, enrolment, provision of support and budgetary needs for students with EHCPs including High Needs students.
- Assisting with managing the additional support funding claim across the College, and externally provided from local authorities, and represent the College as the SENCO.
We are seeking to appoint an experienced SEN professional who can demonstrate:
- Minimum of 2 years experience of SEN teaching and learning support delivery in a Further Education setting.
- Good working knowledge of the 2014 SEN Code of Practice.
- Strong understanding of funding methodology in Learning Support.
- Successful experience of managing a team in FE, including coaching and developing staff.
- Knowledge and experience of quality improvement processes.
