About the work unit / facility

Parklands Residential Aged Care Facility (RACF) is a Queensland Health managed aged care service within the Townsville Hospital and Health Service (THHS) and is located in Townsville at the Kirwan campus. The facility provides care for 70 residents with 30 places for dementia care and 40 places for older persons who require care due to fragility and complex care needs.

Competitive salary and benefits:

We offer attractive remuneration packages and generous leave entitlements.

  • Salary range: $52.16 to $66.91 p.a. (NG5)
  • 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
  • Plus Salary Sacrificing options may be available

About your opportunity

The Registered Nurse (RN) utilises clinical skills and knowledge whilst working in partnership with other members of the nursing team and students to provide resident focused care and assisting in the achievement of service goals.

The RN will be committed to relevant and continued professional education, actively be involved with the development of others, and be involved in the unit portfolios.

Requirements:

  • Qualification: Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent certification relevant to the position is mandatory.
  • Shift Workers: Appointees will be required to work all shifts in accordance with the unit roster.
  • Aged Care Pre-Employment Screening: Applicants are advised this position works in an identified Aged Care Facility as per the Aged Care Act 1997 and therefore requires employees and volunteers to have a current National Police Certificate. Queensland Health will facilitate applicants obtaining the above National Police Certificate.
  • National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Worker Screening Check: As a Health Care worker in Queensland Health who engages in risk-assessed roles, you must hold a current disability check (Yellow Card or Yellow Card Exemption) or a NDIS worker screening check, in accordance with Part 5 of the Disability Services Act 2006 (Qld).
