Student and Campus Life Services provides support for students to help them develop academically, professionally, and personally. Information Points operate across all UWE campuses as a first point of contact for student queries, where dedicated staff provide advice and access to support from specialist teams on a wide variety of emotional and practical issues—from money management, fees, and funding to course-related issues and wellbeing.

One role will be based at City Campus and the other at Frenchay Campus and Glenside Campus. You will work standard office hours all year round (8.30-16.30 or 9.00-17.00). Occasionally, you may need to work on any campus according to business need.

You will work on front desks dealing with queries as they arise in a fast-paced and pressurized environment, triaging queries and referring or signposting where appropriate. You will also provide support in back-office locations handling telephone calls, emails, appointment bookings, and other routine admin tasks.

We are looking for two enthusiastic, customer-focused, resilient, and flexible individuals to work full-time, 37 hours per week on a permanent basis. Currently, there is the opportunity to work in a hybrid way, working from home on occasion; however, this is primarily a campus-based role.

The Information Point service supports students who are often in emotional distress. We seek someone with excellent communication and customer care skills who can approach their work in a calm, positive, and empathetic manner. Knowledge of student experience within a Higher Education setting is desirable, along with an understanding of mental health issues.

The role requires knowledge of a wide range of subjects, so the ability to learn and absorb knowledge quickly and communicate effectively in writing, over the phone, and in person is essential. The variety of questions received means that no two days are the same.

You will have a can-do attitude and foster this amongst colleagues, responding positively to rapidly changing situations. Resilience and the ability to handle challenging situations are crucial. You will also support in back-office locations handling telephone calls, emails, appointment bookings, and other routine admin tasks. Good IT skills and digital capability across various systems and processes are essential. Attention to detail is also key.
