As a Post-Award Finance Manager you will have a hands-on approach, playing a key role in monitoring and reporting on the financial impact of research activity, including monitoring risk areas, enhancing and developing reporting systems, and working with the Colleges and the Research Office to ensure maximum service is provided to those developing and carrying out research for the University. Reporting to a Finance Business Partner, you will work closely with key stakeholders and colleagues in the wider Finance Team.

Responsibilities

  • Direct line-management of the Post-Award Research Finance team
  • Work with the Research Office and others to enhance research award processes, facilitating smooth transfer of work to the team
  • Development of monitoring and audit work to ensure compliance with funder requirements
  • Development and production of reports to identify financial progress on projects and assess risk
  • Maintenance of knowledge of changing funder guidance, and dissemination across the team and Research Office

Qualifications

  • An appropriate accounting qualification (AAT or above) or demonstrated significant experience operating at this level in Research Finance
  • Strong analytical skills and an ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial experts
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities to inspire and develop your team

Work Arrangement & Visas

This role is campus-based for at least 3 days per week, with the opportunity to work from home on the remaining days. Right to Work in the UK: You will be required to provide evidence of your right to work in the UK. We may be able to sponsor qualifying candidates for this role under the Home Office Skilled Worker visa route. Please note that UWE Bristol does not cover any visa or health surcharge costs.
