About the area

The Rural Clinical School of Western Australia (RCSWA) is a network of 15 rural and remote sites across the Kimberley, Pilbara, Mid-West, Goldfields, Great Southern and Southwest regions of Western Australia. It is a collaboration between UWA, The University of Notre Dame Australia, Fremantle and Curtin Medical School, operating as a unit within the UWA School of Medicine. The RCSWA is committed to providing quality teaching, research, professional development and clinical service in rural and remote settings.

About the opportunity

  • Lead the organisation and teaching of RCSWA students, support preceptors, and liaise with local agencies to implement learning opportunities.
  • Engage in research, service, and/or clinical skill enhancement based on personal interests, with a focus on improving rural health outcomes.
  • Collaborate with local practitioners to develop educational programs and rural training pathways, contributing to both local and statewide initiatives.
  • Contribute to curriculum development, assessment marking and provide student mentoring.

About you

  • Registered, or able to be registered with AHPRA as a Medical Practitioner.
  • Work in the respective RCSWA site and the ability to network with rural practitioners in the region.
  • Demonstrated experience as a preceptor and/or supervisor of medical students and/or junior doctors or registrars.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the principles and practice of Indigenous health in rural and regional areas.
  • Practice medicine in rural WA.

Note: A current National Police Clearance Certificate and Working with Children Check will be required by the successful applicant. The successful applicant will reside in or near Busselton, WA.
