Summary:
The Clinical Educator in Home Health and Hospice plays a pivotal role in enhancing the clinical skills and knowledge of health care professionals throughout the organization. Responsibilities include developing and delivering educational programs that are grounded in the latest evidence-based practices and tailored to meet the needs of diverse learners.
As a multifaceted educator serving as both a generalist and a specialist, this role creates, maintains and facilitates learning opportunities directly impactingour staff through orientation and onboarding, individual development plans, organization wide in-service programs, and continuing education opportunities. Identifies individual and departmental needs through learning needs assessment and continuous quality improvement activities. Serves as change leaders in planning and implementing organizational changes related to the delivery of high-quality care. Maintain a strong, collaborative relationship to the leadership of the program that the educator supports.
This position leverages clinical expertise, educational and teaching skills, and a data driven mindset to ensure high-quality training and continuous improvement in clinical education to ensure that all team members are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide exceptional care to patients.

Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor\’s degree in Nursing (BSN) or related field, Master\’s degree preferred.
Experience:
Minimum two to four years of relevant clinical, supervisory and staff development/education experience, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired.
License Requirements:
Current RN licensure in Vermont
Willing to consider other disciplines such as PT/OT/SLP, demonstrating a combination of clinical degree and licensure from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired.
Performance Standards:

Develop, implement, administer, and evaluate an orientation process and specific orientation programs for nursing staff

Assure technical competency of nursing staff by assessing learning needs, coordinating learning opportunities and evaluation the effect of training and education on practice

Organize and coordinate ongoing continuing education opportunities for all nursing staff
-
Serve as a consultant to clinical leaders/managers in developing education plans for individual clinicians to improve clinical practice

Lead/coordinate and/or serve as an in-house educational consultant to assist clinical teams

Advise and coordinate the organization\’s Nursing Preceptor Program

Assist with nursing staff community training courses as home health expert

Organize and maintain resource materials and various records related to assigned functions. Prepare written plans and reports

Confer regularly with supervisor and other organization personnel to plan, coordinate and evaluate activities/programs/projects, exchange information, investigate and resolve problems, consult regarding specific training needs of staff, and the like. Attend staff meetings and participate on various organization\’s committees

Deal regularly with a variety of educational institutions, professional associations, consultants, and other organizations outside the organization in coordinating continuing education and training programs
