Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Stonemason to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have experience in masonry work and possess a strong understanding of various building techniques. This role offers the opportunity to work on a range of projects, from restoration to new build developments, contributing to high-quality craftsmanship and durable structures.
Duties
- Cutting, shaping, and laying stones, bricks, and blocks with precision to meet project specifications
- Using hand tools such as chisels, hammers, and trowels to execute detailed masonry work
- Operating power tools safely for cutting, grinding, and polishing stone surfaces
- Mixing mortar and ensuring proper adhesion between materials for stability and aesthetic appeal
- Assisting with carpentry tasks related to masonry projects, including setting forms or supports
- Performing roofing tasks when required, including installing or repairing roof structures using appropriate materials
- Welding components as needed for structural reinforcement or decorative features
- Maintaining a clean and organised worksite to ensure safety and efficiency at all times
Skills
- Proficiency with hand tools essential for precise masonry work
- Experience in bricklaying and general masonry techniques
- Ability to operate power tools safely and effectively in various construction contexts
- Knowledge of carpentry skills relevant to masonry projects, including formwork and support structures
- Familiarity with roofing procedures and materials when required for specific projects
- Welding skills advantageous for structural repairs or decorative elements
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail to ensure high standards of craftsmanship
- Strong physical fitness with the ability to lift heavy materials and work in demanding environments

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Β£17.50-Β£28.11 per hour
