The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 £ per year.

An opportunity has arisen within our environmental health commercial team for an environmental health technical officer on a full-time basis (37 hours per week). The successful candidate will be required to carry out routine inspections and revisits to commercial premises, deal with complaints and give advice in respect of food safety, health & safety and imported food.

You will also be required to prepare reports, consider and carry out enforcement action, and ensure that records and electronic filing systems are fully maintained and updated. Good ICT skills and familiarity with current software packages such as Excel will be a distinct advantage.

Candidates ideally will have successfully completed the Certificate of Higher Education in Food Premises Inspection / Food Control in Environmental Health (or equivalent) or be working towards achieving EHRB registration. Consideration will be given to candidates that are currently enrolled on an accredited environmental health course.

You will be enthusiastic and self‑motivated, with the ability to manage your own caseload within tight timescales. Excellent communication, organisational skills and attention to detail are essential, together with the ability to contribute effectively to team working.

The role will involve remote working and travel around the district and occasionally beyond, and a full driving licence and access to own vehicle is essential.
