We are looking for a Democratic Services Officer to join a small but busy team supporting the democratic processes of the Council and helping to ensure that decisions can be taken effectively and lawfully.
This will involve co‑ordinating and servicing meetings of the Council’s committees, as well as some working and task groups, and will include preparing and publishing agendas, reports and minutes.
The right person will need to demonstrate an enthusiastic and systematic approach, have some awareness of political considerations, be able to prioritise workloads with minimal supervision and be able to meet strict deadlines.
IT literacy is required.
Ideally, applicants will have some working knowledge and experience of committee administration and governance structures.
The core part of the job will revolve around committee administration work.
Many of the meetings are held outside working hours and in‑person, so flexibility for evening working and attending the Council Offices is required.
