Utopian Professional Recruitment are delighted to be recently appointed to work in partnership with an incredible client who is looking to recruit a Finance Team Leader / Supervisor to join their team on a full time basis. Please Note: This will be a fixed term contract to cover maternity.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- You will support a team of 9 finance staff taking responsibility for planning and monitoring workload to ensure all client services are delivered on time.
- You will liaise with colleagues within the wider team and firm to co-ordinate work and solve any problems that arise.
- You will support the well-being of the team and assist the team with more complex client queries or requests.
- Developing people is an integral part of this position along with providing on the job training and assisting in the professional development of colleagues.
- From your direct contact with clients, you will maintain and build relationships to deliver a service that exceeds clients’ expectations.
- You will be required to prepare VAT files and returns, including month end control account reconciliations and review work of others within the team.
- The role involves oral and written communication with clients and third parties such as HMRC.
To be considered for this opportunity we are looking for the following background / experience:
- Ideally you will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience working within either a busy finance department or an accounting practice.
- You will have some prior team leader/supervisory experience including scheduling workload in a rapidly changing environment.
- You will have a good knowledge of month end procedures including control account reconciliations and VAT return preparation and submission.
- You will be committed to delivering a first class service to clients and colleagues alike.
- You will be able to demonstrate an ability to work on your own initiative and meet tight deadlines.
- You will have excellent IT skills and have a proven ability to retain knowledge in relation to software.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- You will be adaptable and organised with a commercial approach to tasks.
