We are delighted to be supporting an award winning family owned organisation recruit a qualified Senior Management Accountant on a full time, permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for a detail orientated and technically minded qualified professional who has a focus on excellence, respect and team work.
As a Management Accountant, this is about working collaboratively alongside department managers across the wider business, understanding their challenges, and helping to find practical, effective solutions. Youβll be a natural problem solver with a proactive mindset, someone who thrives in a fast-paced, growing retail environment and actively contributes to the ongoing development and optimisation of financial and retail systems, including their newly launched EPOS platform. The role will suit someone who is open to enhancing processes, improving automation, and strengthening data accuracy and reporting efficiency across the business, working collaboratively with finance, retail, and operational teams. You will report directly to the Financial Controller and Finance Director.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly management accounts with a focus on stock reconciliation and cost of sales, including interpreting the figures and preparing clear narrative reports.
- Prepare monthly store performance dashboards to support the retail team, interpreting data and providing insightful commentary.
- Manage cash flow and working capital.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and balance sheet reconciliations with a strong focus on cost-saving opportunities.
- Reconcile insurance sales and prepare VAT returns.
- Ensure licensing compliance for all stores (e.g., second-hand dealer requirements).
- Calculate store commissions and bonuses to tight deadlines.
- Manage supplier payment runs.
- Prepare statutory year-end accounts and audit schedules.
- Work closely with multiple managers, building trust and delivering clear, constructive insights.
To be considered, we are looking for the following:
- ICAS, ACCA, or CIMA qualified.
- Proven Management Accounting background (retail or stock accounting preferred).
- Strong problem-solving skills with a solution-focused mindset.
- Naturally positive and resilient, able to build rapport quickly.
- Excellent communication skills, with a collaborative approach to working with managers at all levels.
- Advanced Excel and strong financial systems skills.
- Must be able to work on-site full time β no hybrid or remote working as a standard requirement.
