We are delighted to be supporting an award winning family owned organisation recruit a Management Accountant on a full time, permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for a detail orientated and technically minded qualified professional who has a focus on excellence, respect and team work.
As a Management Accountant, this role is about working collaboratively alongside department managers across their wider business, understanding their challenges, and helping find practical, effective solutions. You’ll be a natural problem solver with a proactive mindset, someone who thrives in a fast-paced, growing retail environment.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Prepare monthly management accounts with a focus on stock reconciliation and cost of sales, including interpreting the figures and preparing clear narrative reports.
- Prepare monthly store performance dashboards to support the retail team, interpreting data and providing insightful commentary.
- Manage cash flow and working capital.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and balance sheet reconciliations with a strong focus on cost-saving opportunities.
- Reconcile insurance sales and prepare VAT returns.
- Ensure licensing compliance for all stores (e.g., second-hand dealer requirements).
- Calculate store commissions and bonuses to tight deadlines.
- Manage supplier payment runs.
- Prepare statutory year-end accounts and audit schedules.
- Work closely with multiple managers, building trust and delivering clear, constructive insights.
To be considered for this opportunity, we are looking for:
- ICAS, ACCA, or CIMA qualified.
- Proven Management Accounting background (retail, hospitality or stock accounting preferred).
- Strong problem-solving skills with a solution-focused mindset.
- Naturally positive and resilient, able to build rapport quickly.
- Excellent communication skills, with a collaborative approach to working with managers at all levels.
- Advanced Excel and strong financial systems skills.
Please Note - this will be an office based role.

Our client does offer some flexibility around working hours and days to help balance your work and life commitments. For example, a 4 or 5-day workweek with adaptable daily hours for the right candidate, which can be discussed at interview.
