The predicted salary is between 28800 - 43200 Β£ per year.

Due to company expansion, we are excited to be working in partnership with our Glasgow based client who are looking to add talent into their team and recruit a Facilities Engineer. Reporting to the Facilities Manager, you will assist in the day to day coordination of scheduled plant maintenance, address emergency repairs and breakdowns and maintain our maintenance / inspection / safety records. You will be responsible for preserving the good condition of the infrastructure and ensure that the Facilities are safe and well-functioning. You will be required to work on own judgement and decisions, communicate internally and externally as well as managing contractors daily activities.

Please Note: This is a contract role for a period of 6 months.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating contractors for the maintenance of equipment, machinery, buildings, and other facilities
  • Managing and leading change to ensure minimum disruption to core activities
  • Supervising, directing, coordinating and planning essential central services such as maintenance, cleaning, waste disposal and recycling
  • Ensuring the building meets health and safety requirements and that facilities comply with relevant legislation
  • Checking that agreed work by staff or contractors has been completed satisfactorily and following up on any deficiencies
  • Coordinating and leading one or more teams to cover various areas of responsibility where necessary
  • Responding appropriately to emergencies or urgent issues as they arise and dealing with the consequences
  • Maintaining associated equipment and maintenance records
  • Maintaining approved contractors database ensuring all required documentation is received and filed
  • Keeping staff safe from maintenance activities taking place during office hours
  • Familiar with Risk Assessments-Method Statements and Permits to Work

To be considered for this opportunity, our client does require the following background / experience:

  • Previous experience working within a busy facilities role, dealing with complex issues ideally from a Manufacturing background
  • Good understanding of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical and mechanical systems)
  • Understanding of building management systems (BMS) and smart building technologies
  • Ability to identify and determine the next steps for when complex issues arise, identifying key contractors and the ability to explain clearly the concerns and what would be required
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to coordinate a variety of tasks
  • Experience managing and following up contractors
  • Ability to prioritise and multitask on a daily basis
  • Confident, professional with the ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Strong teamwork capability with excellent time management
  • Proactive, flexible and innovative approach
  • A natural problem solver who can β€˜think outside the box’
  • Flexible to work additional hours when required to receive time in lieu
  • Fully committed to working a 6 month contract
