The predicted salary is between 42000 - 60000 Β£ per year.
To work independently as a member of the Actuarial team undertaking a variety of different tasks to enable the department to meet its objectives as agreed by the Actuarial Manager including:
- Lead development of departmental models and processes to improve efficiency or provide additional insight into the financial management of the company.
- Solvency II valuation, including Pillar I, II and III and UK GAAP and IFRS reporting.
- Support financial projection and planning work.
- Management of with-profits business, including recommendations on investment strategy and bonus rates.
- Pricing of annuity business and policy alteration terms.
- Experience analyses and recommending valuation assumptions.
- Development and maintenance of actuarial models.
- Asset Liability Management.
- Ad hoc tasks as required.
Comply with the FCAβs conduct (and senior conduct) and Consumer Duty rules and the PRAβs conduct (and senior manager conduct) standards. Notify the regulator(s) of matters reasonably expected to be notified.
Core competencies:
- Knowledge of Solvency II, Pillars I, II and III.
- Detailed knowledge of actuarial modelling systems and/or financial projections.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to propose solutions and work independently and with ambiguity.
- Excellent report writing skills, including technical specifications and writing high-level reports for senior stakeholders.
- Possess the gravitas to deal with senior stakeholders and project sponsors.
- Positive approach and outlook.
- Presentation skills.
Experience and qualifications:
- Nearly qualified actuary preferred, part qualified considered.
- Experience of working within the Actuarial Function of a UK Life assurer desirable.
