Responsibilities
- Take responsibility for developing the business requirements working with the business and technical experts to define scope and objectives.
- Develop clear business and system requirements and ensure these are communicated into the overall project requirements.
- Support business stakeholders with prioritising requirements across projects.
- Manage stakeholders across the wider Finance department and the wider business.
- Support the Finance team in managing testing and resolving defects.
- Design and deliver process improvement initiatives.
- Design and build of spreadsheet reconciliation control tools.
- Assist in the automation of certain processes in spreadsheets through the use of purpose-built software and Excel tools such as Macros, Pivot tables, various lookup functions.
- Assist in system report development and integration of existing reports into spreadsheet controls.
- Support the wider finance team with ad-hoc duties as required.
- Comply with the FCA’s conduct (and senior conduct) and Consumer Duty rules and the PRA’s conduct (and senior manager conduct) standards as set out.
- Notify the regulator(s) of matters reasonably expected to be notified.

- Strong background in documenting and assessing financial processes.
- Strong business analytics / business analyst skillset.
- Analytical thinker with a focus on identifying root causes and solutions.
- Planning and prioritising work for self and others in order to meet challenging deadlines.
- Effective communicator, confident in building and developing stakeholder relationships at all levels internally and with external organisations.
- Pro-active in approach to change and identification of improvement opportunities.
- Use of advanced Excel tools such as Macros, Pivot tables, various lookup functions.
Experience and Qualifications
Mandatory:
- Knowledge of accounting systems and controls and General Ledgers.
- Experience of being part of Finance change projects – managing and implementing change into Finance function.
Desirable:
- Fully or Part qualified accountant ACCA/CIMA (or have relevant experience) would be advantageous.
