With a new ‘challenger’ brand strategy in the works and ambitious plans for growth, we’re looking for an experienced digital designer to join our awesome in-house creative team. You'll craft compelling digital experiences and assets that really make our brand shine.

Here's the experience, skills & competencies we're looking for you to bring:

  • Experience, ideally both in-house and agency, in a previous design role
  • Proficient in Figma and other relevant design applications, as well as the language and terminology of UX/UI/development teams to aid in collaboration
  • Experience working within Figma’s design system both as a contributor and a user
  • Ability to leverage email tools and platforms and a willingness to become an expert in Knak, Braze, and Contact Monkey to improve our digital comms output
  • Experience in leveraging AI in workflows and output including creative development would be an advantage
  • Thorough knowledge of the creative, design and development processes and understanding of digital communications and marketing channels
  • Be a pragmatic problem solver with the ability to plan ahead and foresee challenges before they become issues
  • Strong communication skills; the ability to confidently explain concepts and influence people at all levels
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced multi-disciplinary environment – working collaboratively with marketing, creative, product owners and various other departments
  • Meticulous attention to detail

This is a hybrid role with 2 days per week in one of our London hubs (Farringdon or Colindale)

This role is part of the Creative team at UW, reporting into our Design Lead and working closely with the UX team within the Customer/Product function.

We deliver progress. What you’ll do and how you will make an impact.

As a Senior Digital Designer at UW you will be responsible for:

  • Crafting compelling digital experiences and assets:
  • Creating and designing effective digital assets and content for the website, social, app, email and other digital platforms, working within our existing architecture on front-end design and customisation of email and internal platforms
  • Working with the wider marketing teams to elevate email as a primary communication channel
  • Acting as a design consultant and brand guardian for digital:
  • Translating our overarching brand guidelines into specific digital applications and contexts
  • Building out and codifying new guidelines where appropriate to ensure our brand keeps up with the evolution of the UX/Product teams’ digital and design systems
  • Collaborating with UX design and product disciplines to ensure we create a consistent experience when it comes to brand
  • Ensuring marketers are equipped with training, tools and skills to carry out effective email builds
  • Supporting on digital quality assurance processes, especially for email
  • Optimization and innovation:
  • Contributing to the optimisation of digital marketing assets for our website, digital advertising and email communications, and the maintenance of the libraries on our DAM, Brandfolder
  • Staying current on digital design trends and recommending new tools, techniques, or processes to scale and improve our creative output.
