We’re aiming to double in size as we help more people to stop wasting time and money. Big ambitions, to be delivered by people like you. Got your attention? Read on...
We put people first. It’s all about you. We’re looking for a Senior Commercial Analyst, in our Commercial Energy team, to act as a pivotal link between commercial strategy and business operations, driving profitability through sophisticated financial modelling and strategic insight into our contracts. You are an expert at breaking down complex problems into manageable components to find effective solutions, leading with curiosity and supporting a diverse team environment. By building strong relationships across Product and Operations, you ensure unified goals while using clear, inclusive, and persuasive communication to align stakeholders and showing the commercial agility needed to adapt to changing market conditions.
Job Description
We deliver progress. What you’ll do and how you will make an impact. This is a newly created role that will own the end-to-end contract P&L process—from initial modelling to performance tracking. You will drive profitability across the business by providing sophisticated financial insights and ensuring our contracts are optimised for long‑term success. Your responsibilities will include:
- Building and maintaining complex P&L models for new and existing contracts to enable data‑driven commercial decision‑making.
- Analysing and stress‑testing key commercial levers to optimise margins and mitigate financial risks.
- Partnering with Operations and Product teams to ensure recommendations are in line with requirements and can be delivered operationally.
- Developing comprehensive reporting suites to monitor actual performance against assumptions and providing actionable variance analysis.
- Managing and coaching a Junior Analyst, providing technical guidance and supporting their professional development.
We work together. Your team and the people you will work with... You will join our high‑performing and commercially astute Energy team which manages a multi‑million pound P&L that is central to the business’s success. You won’t work in a silo; you will be a key partner to our Finance, Operations, and Product teams to ensure our commercial recommendations are viable in the real world. You will also be a leader within the team, directly managing and coaching a Junior Analyst to support their career progression and foster a culture of growth.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Advanced Modelling experience, specifically building multi‑year forecasts and P&L structures from scratch.
- Deep Commercial Acumen and an understanding of how operational drivers translate into financial outcomes.
- Analytical Rigour and the ability to manipulate large datasets to extract meaningful trends.
- Leadership and Mentoring skills, with a passion for sharing knowledge and developing junior talent.
- Strong Stakeholder Management skills, with a track record of communicating complex concepts to non‑analytical audiences.
- A Pragmatic Approach to delivery, ensuring theoretical models align with product roadmaps and operational capacity.
