To thrive in this role, you'll bring a strong blend of collaborative and technical skills:

  • Collaborative mindset: You take a proactive approach to addressing team challenges, share a keen eye for great user experiences, and work closely with others to turn mockups into beautiful, functional interfaces.
  • Problem-solving drive: You possess effective debugging skills and focus deeply on keeping code clean and highly maintainable.
  • Core tech stacks: You have proven, hands-on experience working with React, React Native and TypeScript.
  • State & data management: You hold a solid understanding of solutions like Redux and feel confident working with GraphQL for data interactions.
  • Testing & CI/CD: You bring experience using GitHub Actions and writing robust unit and end-to-end tests.
  • Bonus skills: Any experience with Next.js, Kubernetes or Containers is highly desirable, though we are equally happy to help you develop these in the role.

We work together. You'll join our cross-functional, fully autonomous delivery teams where real product ownership is the norm. Energy sits right at the heart of UW, with over 95% of our customers taking at least one energy service. As an engineer here, you will collaborate closely with designers, backend engineers, and product managers to navigate major, high-impact projects like our ongoing Energy Transformation. Together, we are modernising our core platforms to dramatically boost agent efficiency, lower costs, and reshape how multi-service billing delights our customers.

We deliver progress. In this role, you will make a direct impact on our core applications and future architecture:

  • Build apps: Build and maintain responsive, user-friendly web and mobile applications.
  • Develop components: Create modular, reusable, and testable frontend components that strictly adhere to modern design and accessibility standards.
  • Integrate APIs: Connect frontend applications with GraphQL APIs to ensure seamless data fetching and reliable state management.
  • Optimise performance: Manage application state effectively using Redux while continuously boosting performance across web and mobile platforms.
  • Troubleshoot code: Use systematic analysis and modern debugging tools to track down and solve frontend issues smoothly.
