We’re looking for an experienced Financial Services Compliance Manager to join us as we continue to grow and develop our suite of products in insurance, payments and consumer credit. This is a role that requires strong experience in second line of defence and knowledge of both financial crime and regulatory compliance. You’ll need to demonstrate your ability to act as a strategic advisor to the business, as well as ensuring process is followed correctly. In a business that moves fast, in a highly regulated environment, you’ll need pragmatism and an ability to build great relationships with your stakeholders to drive strong outcomes.
Key Experience Required- Experience in a second line of defence compliance role within financial services
- Knowledge of both financial crime and regulatory compliance aspects. We’re in the insurance, payments and consumer credit sectors, so relevant experience in those areas is ideal.
- A track record of identifying related risks and opportunities and finding proportionate responses, particularly in a changing environment
- Communication clarity – You simplify the complex and get to the point, especially in reports and with stakeholders
- Agility & pragmatism – You have a creative approach to problem solving, finding the most appropriate solution for the business, not just applying standard methods
- Relationship Building – You build and maintain positive relationships with internal stakeholders, at a broad range of levels, to foster effective collaboration and resolutions
- Attention to detail – You have an eye for detail and an ability to dig into the nitty gritty
- Calm under pressure – You keep a clear head and offer perspective when things get hectic.
This role reports to the Senior Financial Services Compliance Manager and will be joining a wider team of Legal & Compliance professionals. You’ll interact with Senior leaders and colleagues across this business to deliver an effective second line of defence advisory service for our FS products.
What you’ll do and how you will make an impactThis is a newly created role joining at a critical phase of development in the business. These are the key responsibilities of the role:
- Second line of defence advice - Being a trusted ‘second line of defence’ advisor to provide oversight and advice to ensure our policies, procedures and processes help us achieve our business objectives while appropriately reflecting the FCA’s expectations, Financial Crime legislation and other relevant regulations.
- Compliance monitoring and reporting - Conducting compliance monitoring and testing reviews to assess the effectiveness of our internal controls, overseeing any work to mitigate gaps or issues.
- Cross functional collaboration - Acting as a business partner to the first line of defence to support and educate on compliance matters and as a point of contact for internal queries related to regulatory compliance.
- Change management - Supporting change, whether driven by internal needs such as business development, or external needs such as regulatory change.
