We expect to increase customer numbers by 1m over the next 4-5 years. The Energy team at UW is accountable for driving the optimisation of our energy P&L, ensuring our customers get the most from their energy provision. The team look to ensure existing customers have the best deals whilst future-proofing our energy supply and contracts. It\\\'s a team of absolute experts who thrive on cutting through the complexity to get to the heart of the commercial drivers of our success. You\\\'ll report into the Head of Commercial Optimisation and work in a small team with high impact. We deliver progress. What you\\\'ll do and how you will make an impact.

Responsibilities

  • Modelling of the business energy portfolio, own and develop the commercial models used to manage the business energy P&L
  • Enable & influence strategic decision making on future activities and products
  • Providing insight and analysis for decision making on target customers, margin, pricing, products, hedging strategies and growth opportunities
  • Be the commercial specialist on Mandatory Half Hourly Settlement (MHHS) impacts to our business customers, looking for opportunities and supporting proposition development
  • Margin delivery forecasting and actuals analysis
  • Work with cross-functional teams to lead on the growth and development of our business energy offering
  • Work closely with Commercial colleagues to successfully deliver the team objectives

About the role and qualifications

  • A depth of knowledge in the energy industry and competitor market awareness, with experience in driving positive commercial and risk management outcomes
  • Great statistical and portfolio modelling experience - risk and hedging experience would be a real plus
  • Strong experience of using SQL and Python for complex data analytics tasks
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent in a STEM or Economics related subject
  • Like to take real accountability for making things happen
  • Love fast-paced, non bureaucratic environments
  • Have a talent for making complex concepts easy for others to understand
  • Are an empathetic team player who collaborates closely with others
  • Embrace iteration, high-paced delivery, and are comfortable with change
  • Experience presenting to director-level stakeholders
