Job Summary
We’re looking for a Resource Manager to join the team. You’ll join us at a defining moment as we grow our internal creative capabilities and execute engaging work across our marketing areas including Brand, Partner, Customer, Digital, Events & Product.
As a Resource Manager at UW you will be responsible for:
- Prioritization: Ranking projects based on their business impact and the current capacity of the team.
- Briefing Management: Ensuring all briefs are clear, comprehensive, and aligned with team capacity while facilitating effective scoping.
- Briefing Integrity: Challenging briefs and pushing back where necessary to ensure high-quality output.
- Proactive Assessment: Identifying information gaps in incoming briefs and facilitating team syncs to gather necessary context and insights.
- Capacity Planning: Maintaining a comprehensive, high-level view of team bandwidth to anticipate over-capacity issues.
- Budget & Partner Oversight: Managing freelance spending and vendor relationships, including rate negotiations and quote approvals.
- Financial Tracking: Managing the end-to-end PO and invoice process and tracking P&Ls to ensure value for money on external talent.
- Stakeholder Diplomacy: Working across cross-functional teams to negotiate workloads and set realistic rollout goals.
- Expectation Management: Constructively deferring requests when necessary to ensure stakeholders feel heard and informed.
- Process Optimization: Autonomously fixing inefficient processes related to briefing or hour tracking.
- Conflict Resolution: Leading negotiations when multiple high-priority projects conflict to find solutions that satisfy the business and maintain quality.
Background
- 3-5 years of experience in Resource or Traffic Management, preferably within a busy internal marketing department or creative agency.
- Tools: Expert-level proficiency in project management and capacity planning software (Asana and Float experience is a major plus), as well as G Suite.
- Commercial Acumen: Experience in budget management, project cost tracking, and third-party supplier negotiations.
- Data Literacy: Ability to interpret utilization reports and billability metrics to inform business decisions.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex resource constraints.
