We are seeking a talented Commercial Analyst to join our dynamic Commercial Energy team in London. You\’ll be a commercially-minded analyst with some key work experience under your belt, looking to grow your career in a fast-growth utilities organisation. We\’re looking for someone who\’s curious to learn, proactive in their approach and up for a new challenge! Here\’s the key knowledge, skills & experience we\’re looking for you to bring:
- Previous experience in a commercial analysis role
- Experience or a genuine interest in the energy industry
- Advanced analytical capability with the skills to undertake portfolio and risk modelling tasks
- SQL/Python experience is desirable but not essential as we can teach you!
- You\’re likely educated to degree-level, or equivalent,in a numerate subject (Maths, Science, Economics)
- Take real accountability for making things happen
- Love fast-paced, non bureaucratic environments
- Have a talent for making complex concepts easy for others to understand
- Are an empathetic team player who collaborates closely with others.

The Energy team at UW is accountable for driving the optimisation of our energy P&L, ensuring our customers get the most from their energy provision. The team look to ensure existing customers have the best deals whilst future-proofing our energy supply and contracts. It\’s a team of absolute experts who thrive on cutting through the complexity to get to the heart of the commercial drivers of our success.
You\’ll report into the Head of Commercial Optimisation and work in a small team with high impact.

As a Commercial Analyst, you will play a crucial role in driving our organisation\’s commercial performance through in-depth analysis, forecasting, and strategic recommendations:
- Cost stack forecasting – levy costs, network charges and metering for residential and commercial customers to ensure the cost base is clearly understood, managed and explained to senior management
- Tariff pricing & margin optimisation, building and enhancing models and pricing methodologies
- Competitor information & analysis
- Providing insight and analysis on the customer portfolio to senior management for decision making
- You\’ll also support the Senior Analysts with sensitivity & scenario analysis for forecasting and risk management and input into analysis to support future energy propositions.
