Hi! We’re UW. We’re on a mission to take the headache out of utilities by providing them all in one place. One bill for energy, broadband, mobile and insurance and a whole lot of savings! We’re aiming to double in size as we help more people to stop wasting time and money. Big ambitions, to be delivered by people like you.
We put people first. It’s all about you. We are looking for a curious, resilient Product Manager with a growth mindset who loves solving tricky puzzles. In this role, that means navigating our complex, integrated core platform, Equinox, and acting as the vital "translator" between our autonomous product teams and commercial stakeholders. You are someone who communicates clearly, collaborates naturally, and knows how to build strong relationships. You aren't afraid to constructively challenge asks when needed, using customer research and data to back up your decisions.
You will be joining our Platforms Product team, working in a highly collaborative, cross-functional squad alongside Engineers, Data Specialists, Finance and Operational teams. Delivering a seamless multi-service experience for our customers means solving problems across four different industries. At the heart of this is Equinox, our long-standing core platform. It's complex, and it supports many of our key business processes and customer journeys. Your squad’s mission is to make working with Equinox predictable, efficient, transparent, and strategically aligned.
You’ll act as the key "translator" between our autonomous product teams, commercial stakeholders, and the core Equinox team, while championing modernisation over time.
What you’ll do and how you will make an impact:
- Create a consistent "front door" for Equinox: Establish a clear, repeatable way for product teams and stakeholders to engage with the team, making it easy for everyone to see what's possible, what's not, and why.
- Improve delivery efficiency: Make sure the engineering team gets consistent, high-quality information (clear specs, scope, acceptance criteria, and dependency mapping).
- Run great agile processes: Help break down large, complex platform tasks into smaller, deliverable slices that create quick, measurable value.
- Be the Equinox champion: Build a deep understanding of the business processes enabled by Equinox, and work with subject matter experts to improve documentation—reducing "tribal knowledge" across the business.
- Advocate for modernisation: Actively support moving processes from legacy systems into next-generation capabilities, making the cost, benefit, and risk picture crystal clear for leadership.
- Drive impact and outcomes: Own key product KPIs and OKRs for your area, building and executing quarterly plans (with a 3-to-6 month view) that keep our business moving forward.
Qualifications:
- Product Management experience: A proven track record of managing the full product lifecycle for a complex integrated platform, from discovery to launch in a cross‑functional squad.
- Technical and data mastery: The ability to write clear, simple specifications and user acceptance criteria, alongside hands‑on experience using product analytics (like Mixpanel or Google Analytics) to guide your decisions.
- Roadmap and backlog expertise: Experience owning and prioritising a 3-to-6 month roadmap and keeping a healthy, tidy backlog using frameworks like RICE or MoSCoW.
- Platform experience: Solid experience working with core platform products and navigating complex, integrated systems.
- Commercial and customer focus: Strong commercial awareness—connecting feature development to revenue and cost‑saving—and a habit of using customer research to define problems.
