Our client, a leading international infrastructure group, is looking for a highly experienced Operations Site Manager to oversee the delivery of 132kV cabling and overhead line (OHL) diversion works as part of the HS2 Birmingham Interchange Station project. As the Operations Site Manager, you will be responsible for managing the safe, efficient, and compliant execution of underground diversions of existing overhead circuits, tower removals and erections, and civil coordination on site. Key roles and responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage daily site operations including civil and cabling subcontractors, OHL crews, and cable jointers.
  • Ensure compliance with all HSEQS requirements, promoting a culture of Zero Harm and defect-free delivery.
  • Draft and review RAMS, conduct inductions and site briefings.
  • Coordinate logistics across materials, transport, communications, and site plant.
  • Draft briefs for Temporary Works (TW) and ensure TW quality and monitoring.
  • Review subcontractor documentation and ensure works align with programme, budget, and specifications.
  • Regularly assess site progress, mitigate delays, and resolve on-site issues proactively.
  • Report incidents, near misses, unsafe conditions, and lead corrective actions.

Skills and experience required:

  • Demonstrable experience as a Site Manager/Engineer delivering high-voltage cabling and OHL works.
  • Strong background in site-based leadership on complex utility projects.
  • Skilled in coordination of multidisciplinary teams including civils, M&E, and specialist contractors.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of Temporary Works management and quality standards.
  • SMSTS or SSSTS, SCS card, SiteInduction, Temporary Works supervisor, CAT & Genny.
  • Full driving licence.
