Our client, a leading Energy Consultancy, is looking for a Business Development Manager to join their team. As the Business Development Manager you will sell energy procurement contracts, carbon reporting/management and energy solutions to B2B clients as well as generate your own leads and identify potential target business. Key responsibilities for the Business Development Manager:
- Promptly deal with new warm leads as they are created
- Obtain new opportunities through referrals from customers and acquire suitable testimonials
- Develop new opportunities by networking and attending events
- Negotiate prices for corporate tenders and present to clients
- Assist existing clients with their energy renewals; proactively working the renewal pipeline
- Manage the progress of upcoming opportunities and leads through our CRM (HubSpot) system
- Accurately profile prospects; collecting all the information required
- Audit energy bills with the aim of creating an opportunity to quote on their energy renewal
- Price SME and Corporate opportunities and provide quotations to customers in a timely manner
Skills and experience required for the Business Development Manager:
- Min. 3 years B2B sales experience working for an energy consultancy/brokerage or supplier
- 360 sales cycle experience - strong negotiator and solid background in closing cold and warm leads
- In depth knowledge and experience in the energy industry
- Strong target orientation with a passion for exceeding goals and achieving success
- Exceptional ability to build rapport quickly and secure commitment over the phone
- Flexible and resilient, able to handle objections and work well under pressure
- Proactive and resourceful, with a strong ability to take initiative
- Self-motivated and driven by a desire to make a meaningful impact
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and sales skills
Location: Hybrid (2 days a week in either London or Newbury office)
Salary: Competitive DOE + commission
