Our client, a leading multi utilities provider, is looking for an experienced Estimating Manager to join their team. As an Estimating Manager, you will be responsible for managing the performance and delivery of all pre-contract activities across 4 regions to ensure a smooth delivery of all tenders, outline designs and priority work, whilst collaborating closely with other departments. If you have proven experience in multi-utilities estimating , a minimum of three years in a leadership position and strong knowledge of multi-utility developments – Apply today!!
Key responsibilities for the Estimating Manager :
- Set team performance KPIs and provide regular performance reports.
- Manage and allocate outline designs based on priority, ensuring targets are met.
- Ensure outline designs are buildable, high quality, and delivered on time with consistent standards.
- Train and support team members and trainees to carry out estimation tasks in line with procedures.
- Work with Regional Design Managers to streamline tender delivery.
- Lead and deliver tenders in line with business development priorities.
- Maintain client relationships and respond to market needs.
Skills and experience required for the Estimating Manager :
- Previous estimating experience in the utilities or construction sectors
- In-depth knowledge of multi-utility residential & commercial developments
- Minimum 3 years in a leadership role, including strategic planning and mentoring
- Strong technical understanding of drawings, plans and specifications
- Commercial awareness, including contract knowledge and negotiation skills
- Confident communicator, both written and verbal, with stakeholder-facing experience
- Client-facing experience with a focus on understanding needs and delivering satisfaction
- Comfortable working with project teams, engineers, subcontractors and suppliers
- Full UK driving licence
