Our client, a well-established renewable energy supplier, is looking for a Business Development Manager to join their team and drive new business. The ideal candidate will have a proven history of securing new business opportunities, developing a strong sales pipeline and selling flexible gas and electricity procurement contracts along with additional energy products and solutions. Key responsibilities for the Business Development Manager:

  • Acquire accounts with energy consumption above approximately 25GWh to 100GWh
  • Build long-term relationships with customers
  • Oversee and coordinate complex tenders from enquiry to deal acceptance
  • Develop a growth strategy focused both on financial gain and customer satisfaction
  • Research new business opportunities - new markets, growth areas, trends etc
  • Generate leads and cold call prospective customers
  • Arrange business meetings with prospective clients
  • Promote the company’s products/services addressing or predicting clients’ objectives
  • Help to plan sales campaigns and create a target market sales pipeline
  • Determine pricing and deal structures to optimise propositions and drive growth

Skills and Experience required for the Business Development Manager:

  • Business Development experience from B2B energy supply or consultancy
  • Experience in selling flex contracts and energy solutions
  • Strong interpersonal skills: confident, credible, persuasive, and a team player
