Our client, a leading energy consultancy, is looking for a Business Development Manager to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for securing new business while managing and expanding existing customer relationships. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strategic thinking and determination, playing a key role in growing the company’s customer portfolio. While some leads will be provided by a lead generation team, you will also be expected to proactively generate your own opportunities. Responsibilities:

  • Play an integral part in generating new sales that will turn into long-lasting relationships
  • Establish relationships with new clients and provide high standard of customer service
  • Develop, grow and nurture existing client relationships
  • Acquire a thorough understanding of key customer needs and requirements
  • Assist in resolving any issues and problems faced by customers
  • Take responsibility for the effective on-boarding of new customers
  • Presentations to senior management and prepare regular reports of progress
  • Management of tender processes

Skills and experience required:

  • Previous experience working in an Energy Consultancy or Supplier - Essential
  • Proven track record in generating new business and closing sales
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written forms
  • Excellent influencing, negotiating and listening skills
  • Commercially minded, with an ability to negotiate with all levels of business
  • A strategic and commercial approach to your work
  • A problem solver, able to find solutions and articulate them effectively
  • Experience in providing solutions based on customer needs
  • Proactive and organised with strong interpersonal skills

Location: Hybrid - 1 day per week in Cheltenham

Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 + Comms (OTE circa £48k - £55k)
