The Qualified Supervisor is directly responsible for ensuring that all electricity networks are installed in a safe and professional manner to a high standard. Must have experience working on Commercial or Industrial Installs and those with experience working on the installation of Commercial EV charge point sites will be advantageous. As a Qualified Supervisor, you’ll act as the bridge between the Head of Electrical and our team of field engineers. You’ll ensure compliance, provide technical support and uphold high standards of quality and safety across all electrical installations.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the NICEIC Qualified Supervisor for the business, overseeing compliance with all relevant regulations and standards
- Liaise with the NICEIC and oversee the annual assessment
- Carry out and sign off electrical certifications, inspections and testing documentation
- To be responsible for the operational management of HV and LV installations
- To manage and supervise engineers and subcontractors
- Support, mentor and guide electricians to ensure consistent technical excellence and continuing professional development
- To carry out audits and inspections of the workplace, tools, equipment and company vehicles
- To prepare switching programs for approval by the SAP Engineer
- To assist in the testing and commissioning of HV/LV distribution systems
- To understand local network anomalies and ensure correct phase rotation
- To report all accidents and near misses
- To undertake Site Specific Risk Assessments
- To ensure Commercial Electricians fully understand and adhere to their job requirements
- To plan future work with the Head of Projects & Project Managers
Qualifications
- 18th Edition Qualification
- NVQ Level 2 and 3 in Electrical Installation
- ONC or equivalent in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum 3 years’ experience at QS level
- Strong knowledge of the Electricity Supply, Quality, Continuity Regulations
- Strong knowledge of the Electricity at Work Regulations
- NICEIC Experience
- First Aid (Advanced)
- Experience in distribution systems through the range 400v to 33kv
- Ability to read schematic drawings and understand content
- Strong proven background within Electrical Engineering
- NRSWA, SMSTS and CSCS/SHEA Power cards IDNO/DNO in date competences
- Full UK driving license – willingness to travel and stay overnight if required
