What does this role involve?
The Senior Integration and Testing (I&T) Engineer performs end-to-end testing and validation of combined software solutions, including Smart Meters, comms hubs, in home displays (IHD’s) and smart devices; and how they interact with other systems in the customer journey. Responsibilities include applying automated test tools to the I&T process and writing automated test cases. These ensure that software features and changes don’t adversely impact existing end-to-end functionality before deployment. You will provide technical direction to others in the team based on prior experience and knowledge and will be relied on as a source of hardware and software testing expertise across IT.
Who are we looking for?
Your experience of working in a combined hardware and software integration and testing environment will give you a strong foundation for this role. Your domain knowledge in Energy and Smart Metering will provide you with the ability to understand the technology and become productive quickly. Your expert knowledge of testing tools and techniques such as TestComplete and Selenium, alongside your scripting and API replication, will provide you with the practical knowledge to deliver results. Your problem-solving skills will enable you to embrace new scenarios and deliver credible solutions to business problems. Your relevant accreditation/qualification such as ISTQB qualification will provide you with the foundations to be a success in this role.
