The Role

The Cleaning Operative is responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the Utilita Bowl site, ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for clients, employees, and visitors. The role includes carrying out a range of cleaning duties across sports facilities, office areas, and event spaces within the venue

Key Responsibilities

General Cleaning:

  • Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors.
  • Dust and wipe down surfaces, including but not limited to desks, tables, hospitality areas and surrounding grounds
  • Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors.
  • Moving & emptying waste bins and dispose of waste in designated areas both internally and externally.
  • Sanitise and disinfect restrooms / changing rooms, including toilets, sinks, showers and fixtures.

Specialised Cleaning:

  • Clean and maintain kitchen areas, including appliances and counters.
  • Perform deep cleaning tasks as scheduled or requested such as Kitchens, Carpets and Jet washing.
  • Handle and dispose of hazardous materials according to safety guidelines.

Maintenance:

  • Report any maintenance or repair needs via the help desk system.
  • Replenish supplies such as soap, toilet paper, and paper towels.
  • Operate and maintain cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaners, buffers, jet washers, high level window cleaning equipment and scrubbers.
  • Maintain external areas such as jet washing of seating, hard standing areas and building structures.
  • Carry out regular external window cleaning.

Health and Safety:

  • Follow all health and safety regulations and procedures.
  • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Ensure proper handling and storage of cleaning chemicals.

Customer Service:

  • Respond promptly to customer requests and inquiries.
  • Maintain a courteous and professional demeanour at all times.

Experience and Qualifications

Experience:

  • Previous cleaning experience in a is an advantage but not required, as full training will be provided.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
  • Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and safety protocols although full training will be given.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to work with other teams to ensure the best possible service
