About the Role
Situated in the heart of Nottingham, the Theatre Royal and Royal Concert Hall is one of our liveliest and most vibrant venues, hosting incredible shows, performances and events regularly - from West End Musicals to Comedy to Concerts to Opera. We’re looking for an enthusiastic and confident Bar Supervisor to join our team, leading the bar operation during performances, intervals and special events. This is a fantastic opportunity to take a hands-on role within a lively theatre environment, where great organisation, leadership and customer service make all the difference. Whether you’re an experienced bar supervisor or an experienced bartender ready to take the next step, we’d love to hear from you!
Job Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage bar staff, providing training and support to ensure high performance and adherence to service standards.
- Oversee the preparation and presentation of beverages, ensuring quality control and consistency.
- Assist the Bar Manager with managing stock levels.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including food safety standards.
- Handle customer inquiries and complaints professionally, striving for resolution to enhance guest satisfaction.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure seamless service during busy periods.
What we're looking for
- Previous Bar Supervisor or Bar experience.
- Previous experience working with cask ale is desirable.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and support a team.
- Confident supervising staff and creating a positive, inclusive and enjoyable team environment.
- Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Strong customer service skills with a passion for delivering an excellent guest experience.
- Good knowledge of bar operations, including stock control, cash handling and service standards.
- Flexible and reliable, with the ability to work evenings, weekends, bank holidays and during busy event periods.
