The Logistics Assistant provides administrative and operational support to the logistics team, helping to coordinate shipments, manage inventory records, monitor deliveries, and maintain accurate documentation. The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with suppliers, transport providers, and internal teams.
The Responsibilities
- Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, monitor delivery schedules, track consignments, and investigate any delivery discrepancies, shortages, or damaged goods to ensure the smooth flow of operations.
- Maintain accurate logistics, inventory and transportation records, updating logistics systems and databases, and preparing and processing shipping documents, purchase orders and delivery notes.
- Support inventory management and stock control activities, including stock counts, reconciliations, forecasting and planning, helping to maintain accurate inventory levels.
- Liaise effectively with suppliers, carriers, warehouses and internal departments to ensure timely communication and efficient coordination of logistics activities.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety requirements and relevant regulations, while supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and performance.
What we’re looking for
- Previous experience in logistics, supply chain, warehouse administration or a similar support role, with knowledge of inventory control and transportation processes; relevant qualifications in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related field are advantageous.
- Strong organisational, time management and administrative skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy and analytical problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve operational issues.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to build effective working relationships with suppliers, transport providers and internal stakeholders.
- Good IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel); experience using ERP, inventory management or logistics systems would be beneficial.
