The Venue

Welcoming top-tier music, comedy, sport and corporate events to the heart of the city and proudly hosting over 200 events and 130,000 visitors each year, it is a vital stage for touring artists and audiences alike.
About the Role
The Events Manager is responsible for the planning, advancement, coordination, and successful delivery of a diverse programme of live events including concerts, comedy shows, sporting fixtures, conferences, and corporate events. Working closely with promoters, tour representatives, event organisers, contractors, and internal departments, the role ensures all events are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest operational and customer service standards. The Events Manager acts as Duty Manager during events, overseeing venue operations, managing event budgets and recharges, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, security, and licensing requirements.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning and advancement of allocated events at the venue.
- Act as the primary point of contact for promoters, event organisers, tour representatives, and clients.
- Manage the operational delivery of events as Duty Manager.
- Ensure the highest standards of health, safety, security, and compliance.
- Manage event budgets, forecasts, expenditure, and client recharges.
- Coordinate cross-functional working across all venue departments and external contractors.
We are looking for someone with:
- Experience in the events industry or transferable skills from a similar role.
- Previous experience of crowd management.
- Ability to build good working relationships.
- IOSH certificate preferable.
- Practical experience in writing risk assessments and safety documentation.
- Competence in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Ability to interpret CAD drawings and use CAD software is preferable.
- Ability to work well under pressure and manage time effectively.
- Attention to detail and self-motivated.
