We are working exclusively with a leading infrastructure contractor who is looking to appoint an experienced Civils Operative to join their growing operations team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking business delivering essential works across the strategic road network.
You will work on a variety of live sites, supporting the safe and efficient delivery of civils. The role offers variety, stability, and the chance to be part of a team that takes real pride in the quality of its work.
The Role - Civils OperativeAs a Civils Operative, you will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of site-based activities, including:
- General civils works such as duct laying, reinstatement, cabling, and trenching
- Hand-dig trial holes and excavation where required
- Building feeder pillar and cabinet bases
- Constructing chambers to highway and utility specifications
- Identifying risks on site and contributing proactive solutions
- Ensuring all work is completed safely, on time, and to the required standard
We are looking for individuals who can demonstrate:
- Previous experience in civils, highways, utilities, or similar site-based work
- Ability to undertake manual tasks including trenching and cable laying
- Willingness to work night shifts and stay away when required
- Strong commitment to health & safety and quality standards
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
- Experience as a Lead Operative (advantageous)
- CSCS card
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
