We are looking to recruit experienced and reliable HGV HIAB Operatives with Civils/Groundworks duties to support a growing portfolio of highways infrastructure projects. This role is based in Northamptonshire and will involve working across a range of highway and infrastructure schemes throughout the region. Projects include the installation of steel poles and associated highway equipment.

This is a hands-on operational role where the successful candidate will split responsibilities between operating HGV HIAB/Grab vehicles and supporting civils and groundwork activities on site. We are ideally looking for candidates with highways, utilities, street lighting or civils experience who are comfortable working both on the tools and operating lifting equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operating HGV Class 2 HIAB and Grab vehicles safely and efficiently
  • Lifting, moving and positioning materials, columns and highway infrastructure equipment
  • Supporting highways civils and groundwork operations
  • Assisting with street lighting and traffic infrastructure installations
  • Working safely within live highway and roadside environments
  • Completing daily vehicle, plant and equipment inspections
  • Working closely with supervisors and installation teams
Qualifications:
  • HGV Class 2 Licence
  • CPCS Lorry Loader (Hook & Clamshell) and/or ALLMI Lorry Loader (Hook & Clamshell)
Desirable Qualifications:
  • IPAF
  • NRSWA / Street Works
  • CSCS Card
  • Highways or utilities civils background
  • Experience working on motorway or trunk road projects
