An opportunity has become available for an experienced electrical testing professional to join a specialist compliance project operating across industrial and heavy engineering environments throughout the Midlands.

This assignment is ideally suited to an electrician with a strong background in statutory inspection, condition reporting and testing of low-voltage electrical installations within manufacturing, process, aggregates or similar sectors. The position will initially run for three months, with the possibility of extension depending on project requirements.

Working Pattern

  • The role is primarily structured around night working, typically covering four shifts per week: Monday to Thursday 8:00pm to 6:00am
  • Additional weekend shifts available during planned shutdown periods
  • Regular overtime opportunities
  • The majority of the work will be undertaken in Leicestershire, with occasional travel to other locations across the Midlands when operational requirements arise.

Main Duties

  • Periodic inspection of electrical installations
  • Fixed-wire testing programmes
  • Electrical condition assessments and reporting
  • Identification and recording of non-compliances
  • Verification of installations against current wiring regulations
  • Safe isolation and testing procedures
  • Accurate completion of certification and inspection records

Work will be conducted within active industrial environments where a strong commitment to safe working practices is essential.

Candidate Requirements

  • Recognised electrical qualifications City & Guilds 2391 or equivalent inspection and testing qualification
  • Current 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification
  • Valid ECS card
  • Demonstrable experience producing EICRs and inspection documentation
  • Industrial, manufacturing, quarrying or process-sector experience would be highly advantageous
  • Full UK driving licence
  • You should also be comfortable working independently, liaising with site personnel and adapting to varying operational environments.
