The Opportunity
We are supporting a market leader in intelligent parking solutions as they grow their Installation Engineer team! Seeking a Field Engineer with strong problem-solving skills, good knowledge of electrical systems, IP schemes, and loading servers. The company has its own bespoke parking systems; designed, built, and manufactured in the UK! Systems you will be installing: Ticket Kiosks, Barrier Systems, and the latest Ai ANPR/CCTV Camera technology! Full product training is provided, making this an excellent opportunity for an engineer with strong networking and hardware skills who wants to take ownership of full system builds, commissioning, and customer handover in a specialist, future-focused industry.
The Role
As an Installation Engineer, you will:
- Install, commission, and configure parking and access control systems
- Lead installation and upgrade projects across customer sites
- Carry out system setup, hardware mounting, and equipment configuration
- Configure system software, update firmware, and complete system commissioning
- Conduct full system testing, validation, and customer demonstrations
- Work independently, managing your own installation schedule across the Midlands
- Deliver a professional, customer-focused service at all times
Experience Required for Installation Engineer
You must have experience in an installation, commissioning, or project-based engineering role, ideally involving one or more of the following:
- Access control or security systems
- CCTV / ANPR cameras
- Ticket kiosks / machines
- Networking / Servers / IP schemes
- Intercom systems
- EPOS equipment
- Software-driven or PC-based hardware systems
Installation Engineer Skills & Competencies
- Strong networking configuration and fault-finding ability
- Confident working with hardware, cabling, and system components
- Ability to commission software-driven systems and configure system settings
- Comfortable using diagnostic tools, remote support software, and system interfaces
- Able to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-first approach
- Comfortable travelling Nationwide and staying away 2 days (if required) - (accommodation and food paid for)
ESSENTIAL Requirements
- Full UK Driving Licence - essential
- Strong networking and smart device experience
- Experience installing or commissioning hardware-based systems
- Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available)
- Strong written and verbal English
DESIRABLE Requirements
- Recognised qualification in electrical engineering (ECS card / 18th edition / PAT testing etc.)
- Recognised qualification in network engineering (CompTIA, Cisco, HND in Computing etc.)
