We are recruiting on behalf of a leading traffic technology provider to find an experienced Traffic Light Engineer to cover the London network. Due to continuous contract growth and investment in urban infrastructure, we require a proven professional who can hit the ground running to support routine maintenance, commissioning, and emergency fault response for critical traffic signal control systems.

The Traffic Light Engineer role involves working within a supportive, regional team across both day and night shifts. Because this position handles complex, specialist infrastructure across a busy network, we are looking for an established engineer who can operate with complete autonomy within a couple of weeks.

Key Duties:

  • Installation & Commissioning: Install, configure, and commission traffic signal equipment, controllers, and associated roadside technology. Conduct scheduled inspections, periodic testing, and preventative maintenance on traffic signal junctions and pedestrian crossings.
  • Fault Diagnosis & Repair: Respond swiftly to emergency faults, utilising diagnostic tools to troubleshoot and repair hardware, wiring, and controller software issues.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure all works are carried out in strict accordance with health & safety regulations, highways standards, and electrical compliance.

Candidate Profile:

  • Confident working with major traffic signal controllers and roadside infrastructure.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Exceptional diagnostic abilities to isolate and resolve complex electrical, network, and signal faults independently.
  • A full, clean UK driving licence is essential, with flexibility to cover the London and Southeast patch across day and night shift rotations.

If you are an experienced Traffic Light Engineer with at least 4 years in the industry and are looking for your next challenge across London and the Southeast, please submit your CV and I will call you to progress your application!
