A position is available for a maintenance engineer to support the installation, commissioning, and upkeep of roadside technology across the motorway network surrounding Greater London and the Home Counties. The role involves working on active highway environments and delivering technology services across the M25 corridor.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of roadside technology systems, including MIDAS, inductive loops, TMUs, emergency telephones, radar equipment, AMIs, and MS3/4 signage.
- Complete scheduled inspections as part of ongoing maintenance engineer duties.
- Respond to reactive faults, carrying out diagnostics and implementing effective repairs.
- Ensure all work complies with safety, quality, environmental, and training standards.
- Work flexibly across the network, including nights, weekends, and travel between sites.
Candidate Profile
- Background in electrical or electronic installation or maintenance, ideally in a maintenance engineer capacity.
- ONC/HNC (or equivalent) in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
- Able to work independently and make informed decisions without constant supervision.
- Comfortable working roadside, at height, and within live traffic environments.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to produce accurate safety documentation.
- Must pass DBS checks and hold a full UK driving licence.
- Organised, proactive, and capable of coordinating tasks with others as a maintenance engineer.
