The HGV Technician Role

  • Service, repair, and maintain vehicles to DVSA/manufacturer standards
  • Diagnostics across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic & pneumatic systems
  • Prep vehicles for MOT and complete all service documentation
  • Respond to breakdowns and support off-site recovery
  • Mentor apprentices and promote safe working practices
  • Carry out preventative maintenance and keep accurate records

What You Need As a Successful HGV Technician

  • HGV qualifications Parts 1–3 or equivalent
