We are seeking experienced Cable Field Engineers to support a growing programme of civils and utilities works across East London. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands-on fieldwork, working outdoors, and contributing to the delivery of essential national infrastructure.
As part of a dedicated field engineering team, you will be responsible for installing, proving, and maintaining cable routes within both existing and newly constructed civils environments. The role involves working closely with civils crews, supervisors, and planners to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality project delivery.
Key Responsibilities for Cable Engineer- Install, prove, and pull cable through ducts, chambers, and underground infrastructure
- Support civils teams with excavation, reinstatement, and safe access to network assets
- Carry out site surveys, assessments, and produce clear, accurate documentation
- Identify, diagnose, and resolve cable faults or performance issues
- Work in accordance with industry standards, safety legislation, and site-specific RAMS
- Coordinate with field teams and supervisors to maintain smooth project progress
- Ensure tools, equipment, and vehicles are maintained to operational standards
- Proven experience in cable installation, maintenance, or utilities field engineering
- Strong understanding of underground ducting systems, cable handling, and civils environments
- Good awareness of safety protocols, including working in the highway or around live utilities
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and undertake physically demanding tasks
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
