Highways Electrician £40,000–£45,000 + Night Uplift (OTE £50,000+) Full-Time, Permanent. Company vehicle, fuel card, tools and PPE. Training on modern ITS, traffic systems and highway technologies. Progression routes into commissioning, senior electrician or supervisor roles. London Network - Ideally based in North London / Luton (client will consider candidates within London and Home Counties also).

Overview: A leading highways technology contractor is seeking a Highways Electrician to support installation, maintenance and repair of electrical assets across London’s strategic road network. The role covers traffic systems, street lighting and modern highway technology, working a 50/50 split of days and nights with uplifts taking annual earnings to £50k+. This is a long-term, stable position with opportunities to develop into ITS, traffic signals, and smart-highway technology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain and repair electrical highway assets including:
    • Street lighting columns, feeder pillars and distribution equipment
    • Traffic signal infrastructure, detection loops and roadside controllers
    • Highway technology such as CCTV, ANPR, VMS, comms cabinets and power supplies
