About the Role
We are looking for a strategic and commercially minded Head of Sales to lead and grow our UK commercial operations. This role combines hands-on sales leadership with operational and administrative oversight, ensuring strong coordination between sales, customer service, and logistics teams. You will be responsible for revenue growth, commercial performance, and service quality, while building a scalable and disciplined sales function.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales Leadership & Growth
- Develop and lead the commercial sales strategy for the UK market
- Take an active, hands-on role in business development and key accounts
- Achieve revenue and growth targets through proactive sales activity
- Expand the client portfolio and secure long-term, high-value partnerships
- Identify new market opportunities and strengthen competitive positioning
- Oversee pricing, commercial proposals, tenders, and contract negotiations
- Operational & Administrative Oversight
- Work closely with logistics and operations to ensure smooth service delivery (road, sea, air, multimodal)
- Support branch performance through structured sales planning and forecasting
- Oversee customer onboarding, contract management, and documentation flow
- Monitor financial performance, margins, and cost structure
- Contribute to P&L targets, budgeting, and performance reporting
- Ensure compliance with internal procedures, quality standards, and legal requirements
- Team Management
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing sales team
- Set clear KPIs, targets, and accountability standards
- Conduct performance reviews, coaching, and capability development
- Foster strong collaboration between sales, admin, and operations
- Representation & Relationship Management
- Maintain strong relationships with key customers, partners, and vendors
- Represent the company in client negotiations and industry meetings

Qualifications
- Strong experience in freight forwarding or logistics
- Experience in a senior commercial, business development, or leadership role
- Strong understanding of freight forwarding operations and processes
- Proven track record of achieving revenue targets
- Strong analytical skills, with experience in reporting, and budgeting
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills
