Term time only. We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join our University Technical College (UTC). The UTC opened in September 2013 in facilities that support the specialism of computer science and engineering. UTC Reading is rated “Good” in all areas, by Ofsted inspection in February 2025.
Students at UTC Reading specialise in either Engineering or Computer Science; at 14 they will also study a broad and balanced curriculum and at Post 16 the curriculum becomes more specialist with various A levels in STEM subjects. In addition, students can study a specialist BTEC Level 3 course in Engineering or IT to extended diploma. At capacity, we will be educating 500 students who will all have a passion for Science, Technology Engineering or Mathematics; it is a truly inspirational environment.
The Learning Support Assistant role is vital to the functioning of UTC and supporting students to access their learning and remove barriers to learning both inside and outside the classroom. We are seeking to appoint a candidate who is interested in supporting young people to overcome barriers to learning and support them to be successful in their future careers.
