Senior Inclusion Support Worker - Intervention Co-Ordinator

Pay Scale: SCP 18-22 (£32,578 - £34,812 per annum FTE)

Actual Salary: £27,577 - £29,468 per annum

Contract: Permanent

The candidate will work closely with the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator), class teachers and other support staff to drive inclusive practice for our students in our college. This role will be to support class teachers/SENDCO in the coordination of SEN (Special Education Needs) Plan, deliver reading, writing and numeracy intervention, support colleagues and teach small groups of children. The role will ensure that, as part of the team, our young people enjoy an inclusive experience.

The successful applicant will be primarily delivering interventions and academic lessons to small groups and 1:1 for students who need to catch up on their understanding within literacy. They will work under guidance from the SENCO and English department. Training will be provided to support with the delivery of phonics and reading comprehension.

The Senior Inclusion Support Worker will also provide support to students to help overcome barriers to learning and support teachers' delivery of the curriculum. The ideal candidate is passionate about education, patient and has a strong understanding of literacy development.
